Hot off the press, club president Peter ( Big Dog ) Kastelein finishes 3rd in the veterans category at the Kanangra Classic with a time of 4hrs53mins ( I think ) for the 100km ( bike computer says 108km ). This time was 13th ?? overall.
Club vice-president Pam ( Miami Vice ) Carter won the womens 50km ( 54km ?? ) race in 2hrs 55mins. Club anchor Dion dragged MUD MTB down not finishing the 100km race after snapping his chain ( too much power ) and ensuing mechanical problems. I ended up riding the 50km with Pam.
Last weekend MUD went to the Tathra Enduro...check out the photos on this link...

Hi Guys,
I just thought I would let you all know that MUD member, Amy Austin, is the National U19 womens xco Champ for 2011(as she was in 2010)!!
She has also just been selected in the Long Team for the upcoming World Championships in Champery, Switzerland.
So lets get out there and help her along with her training to do us all proud!!
The 1st race for the 2011 season has been posted on the calendar. Get the word out, we need as many people as possible to turn up.
A quick clean up is needed of Tabourie. Remember, many hands make light work.
Bring your bikes for a spin afterwards.
A group of mountainbikers are meeting at Lyons Park at Burrill Lake for a Sunday ride.
If you feel up to a ride and it isn't raining, meet us at 3pm in the car park, just look for the mountain bikes.
I just created a profile for our Wheelbarrow / Monkey Mountain loop and the Wheelbarrow Rd TT in the hot lap section. It's easy to add a time just click Hot Lap on the left hand bottom side of the navigation bar and put in your details. The times are posted here http://mudmtb.asn.au/rides/hotlaps so you can check them out.
Dion set down a timetrail challenge last week, give way sign at the highway on wheelbarrow rd to give way sign at the top on woodburn rd. The second timetrial is from the giveway sign on highway at wheelbarrow road to the give way sign on the highway at the bottom of monkeymountain road and back to wheelbarrow give way sign. I notice that Dion hasn't posted his times but mine were 14.50 for the first and 1hr.22.10 for the second. The challenge is out there for you softies can you beat the big dog!!!!!!

Due to the destructive winds, Kings point trails need clearing if we are to continue riding socially through there.Trail clearing will commence on Kp single track in place of Thursday afternoon rides.Meet at Ulladulla Mountain Cycles at 5pm.Bring a rake and gloves and wear appropriate clothing.
There will be no scheduled ride today due to Kings Point being battered by the winds last week.
Hopefully we'll be back on track (pardon the pun) next week.
Cheers

You have a need to ride at Stromlo?
Come to Stromlo on the 29th August for the Chocolate Foot Series Race 4. It's a 7 hr endurance race starting at 8am, racing till 3pm.
Let me know if you are intending to go and we can put up the gazebo and make it a party event with MUD riders.
Our AGM will be on Sunday the 15th of August at 10.00am at Burrill Lake Lions Park. This will then be followed by a BBQ (byo) and then a ride to potholes and back Burrill. So please all come along - members, partners or just riders, bring the kids and support this growing club. We have some projects underway that hopefully will benefit the whole riding community in the region and we need as many people as possible to help us. (also posted in the calender forum page)
